Common seal babies are born in the Arctic pack ice. After birth, the mother immediately begins suckling her offspring with fatty milk, so that it can develop a warm layer of fat. When she returns from hunting, she can tell her own little ones apart from the others by their smell. All of the Schleich figurines are meticulously hand-painted and equipped with the Schleich tag bearing the red S, symbol for highest quality and compliancy with all relevant safety regulations.
